South America covers the largest part of the South USA. The main countries of this continent are Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Lima, Uruguay, Ecuador, Cayenne, Peru and many more. Spanish and Portuguese are the two languages which are mainly spoken in South America, though Dutch, French, and English are other languages which also spoken.

South America is a continent, which is rich in culture, and has influences from Portugal and Spain due to the connections of the regions with Europe. South America is also a wonderful destination due to its hot weather and good natured people; South American cuisines are mouth-watering and it offers several historical sights to explore.

There are plenty of flights to Latin America although in general, they are not cheap from the UK. Ways that you can make the flights cheaper is by avoiding the weekends especially Saturday for flying out, and try to take an indirect route (your operator will normally look these up for you). Airlines that fly to Latin America include Iberia Airlines. British Airways, Continental and Virgin Atlantic. Major locations to fly to include Mexico, Havana, San Jose, Quito, Rio, Sao Paolo and Santiago. There should be no problems entering the country with a valid UK passport. Some areas of Latin America are known to have problems especially for tourists so check before you go that the place you are visiting is safe.

The atmosphere of South America changes very frequently. You can find a series of arid desert circumstance in Peru and Chile, and on other hand you can also find damp and stifling weather circumstances of the Amazon. Gran Chacowere of Argentina is the victim of the hottest weather which reaches a shocking 44 degrees centigrade at times. It is very important for travellers to carry sun cream and other skin protections when they travel to Latin America as most of the time you will get clear sky and hot weather conditions.

You can do a lot of energetic things in South America. You can visit Angel Falls in Venezuela. It is the world highest waterfall, with recorded height of 321 feet; which is 15 times more in height than Niagara Falls. To get a view from the bottom, take a raft up the river or enjoy more alterative views by going on an expedition. The Rio Carnival in Brazil is famed as being among the biggest, and liveliest carnivals in the world.

This happens ever February but book early as flights are sought after at this time. Whilst in Rio, also take the time to visit Corcovado Mountain and the Sugar Loa Mountain Day Tour, this excursion will take you through the rain forest and you can see Christ the Redeemer statue which sits on to of the mountain.

If you visit Chile you can trek to an ancient wonder of the world the Machu Picchu which is an Inca Ruin. The Incas were discovered in the '00s but now is visited by tourists worldwide. Don't forget your camera! South America is picturesque, whether it's the landscape or the people.
