The Washington Redskins haven't started out their 09' exactly how they anticipated. In fact, they are probably the most under achieving team in the NFL so far.
The Washington Redskins find themselves in arguably the toughest division in football. If they don't raise their level of play, they'll find themselves at the bottom of the NFC East.
The Redskins offense is one of the worst in the NFC - QB Jason Campbell is completing a high percentage of his passes but the Redskins can't score in the redzone.
The Washington Redskins have a very tough schedule when you consider they must play the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles twice a season.
The defensive unit for Washington seemed solid on paper, but hasn't been showing up (I don't count the Rams game). The defenses in New York, Philadelphia, and Dallas are all stronger than that in Washington.
The Redskins have QB Jason Campbell -- who hasn't developed as the franchise QB the Redskins were hoping for, yet. Campbell is already 27 years old and the most touchdown passes he threw for in a season was only- in 08'. Redskins fans hope he is a late bloomer or otherwise the Redskins have no future with his as QB.
In 08', Campbell did compete 62% of his pass attempts which shows he can be accurate enough, but his leadership qualities are questioned. Jim Zorn should do a better job at helping him develop.
Head Coach Jim Zorn is on the hot seat if he can't create some spark with his offense. The Redskins are a proud franchise with a rich history, if Zorn can't produce for the Redskins fans and ownership by motivating his players he won't last the season. The players must come ready to play and not play the blame game either as well. .
