Recently discharged from a medical facility, ten year old Pasadena resident, Joey Filetto, has a disease identified as T-cell leukemia. He almost never gets to spend time now with his dad due to his intense medical treatment procedures at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his father's employment to cover the many health-related charges. Despite that fact, tomorrow on Father's Day, he and his dad, Joe Filetto, will thoroughly enjoy a special afternoon on board a fun charter fishing boat.

This anxiously awaited day is a treat sponsored by the fishing charter service, Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing, and the Casey Cares Foundation. The Casey Cares Foundation attests that even if we are unable to cure the emotionally stressful medical conditions, many of us would like to assist the parents in caring and productive ways. The charitable organization guarantees uplifting programs to extremely ill youngsters and their households around Maryland and the mid-Atlantic states.

"It certainly is a perfect name for the charity when you consider that they sincerely take care of the youngsters," said Joe Filetto. He will cherish enjoying Father's Day fishing together with his son. This occasion is a part of "Family Festivities," one of six programs of the organization. As one social worker states, "Your organization is comparable to this little gem that gets placed in their lives to help furnish opportunities for these youngsters and their families to loosen up, have fun, party, and be acknowledged as the terrific people they are."

Along with the Filettos will be 8-year-old leukemia patient, Mikey Thurin, his brother Chris and dad Jim; 12-year-old leukemia patient, Kevin Gill and his dad Kevin; 10-year-old Caroline Keller being treated for non-Hodgkins lymphoma and her dad Jeffrey; and 12-year-old Alexandra Hancock who is fighting a malignant brain tumor, and her siblings Emily, Lindsay and Suzanne and dad Jeff.

All the fathers and their children will depart from the charter boat's pier in Stevensville and spend good quality time together on the fishing charter in the Chesapeake Bay until dark after enjoying box lunches generously donated by Heavenly Ham of Severna Park.

"I can't help ease their pain," Rich Shot, owner of Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing, said in a press release. "But I can give back in a way to create a memory that will last a lifetime."
