The use of remote control software for computers is not a new invention. It has been around for years but it was not very user friendly. Now the ability to control other computers does not only belong to the IT staff. Anyone can use the software because it is easy to use.
If it isn't user friendly then there really is no need to waste time on it right? Now, the software is so easy to use that it only requires a few clicks of a mouse to get connected to other computers in your company. Well how does it work?
The non-technical explanation is - you connect to another computer and have access to either the entire computer or sections of the computer depending on the security settings. You are able to reboot, move files around, monitor activity, move the mouse to the exact place you want to show the user on the other end. If someone is having problem with that spreadsheet, you are able to log in and check it out yourself. If you can fix it there you can fix it anywhere.
With so much power how does that benefit you? Some of the uses are completely obvious and won't be discussed, but maybe the not so common uses might pique your interest. Consider a company that has fifteen thousand locations.
This customer has paid for your services. They have asked that you install the program that you sell on all of their store computers. While they can each go to a download site and install it themselves, that would not be under your control. Most things that are not in your control will eventually cause a cascade failure of services. So, you can install it using a script and it will be exactly right on each of your customers computers.
Using remote management computer software is not a new idea. It is now being used in the most efficient way and is making many peoples' lives easier. It can save money through reducing wasted travel expenditures as well as keeping the customer happy by reducing frustration when they need assistance.
