Many people engaged in tough physical or mental work could face chronic fatigue. Others may face this problem because of diseases, health ailments, allergies or medications.

For some people, the problem of chronic fatigue may stem from stress and pressure in their lives.So you can see that there can be various reasons for the onset of constant fatigue and tiredness.

Your doctor is best placed to diagnose the problem and identify possible causes of this problem. There is no standard test which may enable you to find out the exact cause behind your fatigue. But the doctor can arrive at a conclusion based on your medical history, process of elimination etc.

Once you find out the exact cause of fatigue, it may get easier to cure it. However in a lot of cases, no exact cause comes to the fore. In such cases you have to follow a few general tips for chronic fatigue syndrome treatment.

1. Take short naps: During the day whenever you feel tired, you can take short naps as these naps provide you with bursts of energy. Short naps, also called as power naps, are really very good for health and maintaining energy levels.

However keep in mind that the naps should be really short otherwise you will be spending a lot of your time in these naps. Aim for naps between 20 to 30 minutes in order to rejuvenate your body. The beauty of this is that it won't take much of your time as anybody can afford to take out half an hour out of their busy schedule.

2. Drink fluids: You have to stay properly hydrated if you want to enjoy high energy. When the body is under-hydrated or dehydrated, it will not function at its optimum levels. Your immune system and energy levels may suffer because of this.

So make sure that you drink plenty of water at regular intervals during the day. Try to spread your fluid intake throughout the day. The best fluid to take is plain water. Apart from water, you may sometimes take juices but stay away from cola, caffeinated drinks and energy drinks. They provide more harm than good. Even juices have to be taken in moderation and best thing is to drink water.

3. Get some physical activity: Too often the cause of our fatigue might be due to lack of physical activity. If your lifestyle is such that you don't get much physical activity then your stamina will be lessened. You will become lazy and couch potato.

Whenever you have to do some work, you will get tired easily and quickly. In order to avoid this, you should try to improve your stamina and endurance. This can only be done when you get more and more physically active. But increase physical activity gradually so that you don't put too much burden on yourself all of a sudden.
